Drop: Accessibility Statement

We want Drop to be usable by everyone in the Brandeis community, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and we work to improve the experience with each release.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which are the widely recognized benchmark for digital accessibility, and we treat WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our forward-looking target. These guidelines are organized around four principles (that content be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust) and we apply them to Drop as a native iOS application.

What we do

We design and build Drop to work with the accessibility features built into iOS, including:

• VoiceOver: we label interactive elements and images so the screen reader can describe them, and we work toward a logical reading and focus order.
• Dynamic Type: we support scalable text so you can increase the text size in your device settings.
• Sufficient color contrast: we aim for text and essential controls to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios.
• Reduce Motion: we honor the system setting to minimize non-essential animation and motion.
• Bold Text and larger touch targets: we design controls to be easy to see and tap.
• Support for Voice Control and Switch Control through standard iOS controls.

We test with these assistive technologies and incorporate accessibility into our ongoing design and development process.

Known limitations

Drop is an evolving product, and some areas may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working to identify and fix issues, and we prioritize accessibility fixes in our development. If you encounter a barrier that isn't listed here, please tell us: your feedback directly shapes what we fix next.
