Drop: Copyright & DMCA Policy

Version 2.0 · Effective September 3, 2026

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect Drop's users to do the same. This policy explains how to report content on Drop that you believe infringes your copyright, and how the process works, in accordance with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

Reporting alleged copyright infringement

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and you believe content on Drop infringes your copyright, you may send a written notice to our Designated Agent (below). To be effective under the DMCA, your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list);
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and that is to be removed, with enough detail to let us locate it (for example, a description of the drop, message, or profile and where it appears);
  4. Your contact information, including your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Please note: under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.

Designated Agent

Send DMCA notices to our Designated Agent:

Ethan Yueh-Lin Yang Operator of Drop: Ethan Yueh-Lin Yang Mailing address: 45 Moody Street, Apartment B212, Waltham, MA 02453 Email: support@dropitnow.app

(Operator note: to receive the full protection of the DMCA safe harbor, the Designated Agent should be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office's DMCA Designated Agent Directory. See the launch checklist.)

What happens after we receive a valid notice

Upon receiving a notice that substantially complies with the DMCA, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material claimed to be infringing, and we may notify the user who posted it that the material has been removed or disabled.

Counter-notification

If you believe your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification to our Designated Agent that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal;
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address; and
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days after receipt, unless the original complaining party first notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

Repeat infringers

Consistent with the DMCA, we will, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, disable and/or terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.
